Accessibility Statement
We want Bliss to be usable by everyone. Here's how we're working toward that.
Our Commitment
Bliss is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability, device, or browsing preferences. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard.
Built-in Accessibility Tools
Every page on Bliss includes an accessibility toolbar (the ⚙ button in the bottom-right corner). With it you can:
- Increase or decrease font size — adjustable from 80% to 140%
- Toggle high contrast mode — increases contrast for better readability
- Dark mode / Light mode — toggle in the top navigation bar
All preferences are saved locally in your browser and persist across sessions.
What We've Done
- Semantic HTML structure throughout (headings, landmarks, labels)
- All interactive elements are keyboard-navigable
- All images and icons include descriptive aria-labels or alt text
- Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA requirements in both light and dark modes
- Forms include properly associated labels for all inputs
- Font sizes are set in relative units (rem/em) to respect user browser settings
- Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements
- The site is fully usable without JavaScript for reading content
Known Limitations
We are a small team and Bliss is a growing platform. Some areas we are still improving:
- Screen reader testing is ongoing — some dynamic content (reactions, story loading) may not be fully announced
- We do not currently offer a "skip to content" link on all pages
- Some emoji used as icons may not have full screen reader descriptions
We are actively working on these issues.
Browser and Device Support
Bliss is tested on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop and mobile. We aim to support all modern browsers released in the last 3 years.
Feedback
Accessibility is an ongoing process. If you experience any difficulty using Bliss, or if you find something that could be improved, please tell us. Your feedback directly shapes our work.
