Privacy Policy
We collect as little as possible. Here is exactly what that means.
The short version
Blissintale does not know who you are. We do not ask for your name, email, or any account information. Stories are stored anonymously. We are currently ad-free and do not sell data. We do not track you across the internet.
What we store when you submit a story
When you submit a story, we store:
- The title, body, theme, and any tags you include
- A timestamp of when it was submitted
That is all. No name. No email. No IP address. No device information stored by us.
What we store when you react or comment
Reaction counts (the numbers next to each emoji) are stored against the story. Whether you have already reacted is saved locally in your browser only — it never leaves your device.
If comments are enabled on a story, comments are stored with only their text and a timestamp.
What we store when you report a story
Only the story ID, your chosen reason, and any additional note you provide. No personal information is attached.
What we do not collect
- Your name or email address
- Account credentials of any kind
- Your IP address (beyond standard infrastructure logs outside our control)
- Cookies for tracking or advertising
- Browser fingerprints or device identifiers
- Location data
Third-party services
We use Firebase (Google) to store content. Firebase may log IP addresses and request metadata as standard infrastructure behaviour. See Google’s privacy policy for details.
We use Google Fonts for typography, which involves a request to Google’s servers when a page loads.
We use Netlify to host the site. Netlify logs standard access data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance. See Netlify’s privacy policy.
We use EmailJS to process messages submitted via our contact form. See EmailJS’s privacy policy.
These are infrastructure necessities, not marketing tools. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising or behavioural tracking service. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services — please review their policies directly.
Browser storage
We use your browser’s local storage (not cookies) to remember your dark/light mode preference, font size, and any story reactions. This data lives entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers.
Data retention
Stories are kept indefinitely unless removed by moderation. Because submissions are anonymous, we cannot verify authorship or process deletion requests for specific stories. If you believe a story should be removed, contact safety@blissintale.com with the story link.
Social media
We may share anonymised story or quote excerpts on official Blissintale social media channels. No identifying information is ever shared. All content remains anonymous. If you would like a specific story removed from any social media post, contact safety@blissintale.com.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have rights over your personal data. Because we do not store data linked to your identity, most rights do not practically apply. If you have a specific concern, contact us and we will do our best to help.
Children
Blissintale is not for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly store content from children. If you have a concern about a minor’s submission, contact us immediately.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date above shows when it was last revised. Continued use of Blissintale means you accept any updated policy.
